Felt is one of the world’s most ancient textile techniques. It has a unique character and is created from the wool of sheep, which have provided us with food, clothing and shelter since the beginning of history. This has not only allowed us to survive, but also to connect, through our creativity, express our emotions and enrich our community.
My work explores the potential of felt within twenty first century craft practice. It includes wearable pieces to keep us warm but also to allow us to express our individuality, bags to enable us to carry, not only our belongings, but also our memories and thoughts and interior items – to create spaces for people to get together.
